Afonso Costa is the person who we worked with. My mother booked a trip for Portugal in April of 2010 for 3 tickets. One of those tickets was for my father who passed away in February. Afonso told her that she could ONLY pay in cash, which really confused us. Who doesn't take check or debit these days? Anyways, we let it go and requested a receipt. Afonso NEVER gave us a receipt and every time that we asked for one, he came up with an excuse. Well fast forward a couple of months and with the passing of my father, my mother was no longer going on her trip. Afonso told her that because she didn't have insurance that he would hold onto her tickets for one year and my father's ticket would be reimbursed 100%. My mother waited for two months and multiple phone calls to Afonso for this check that finally came back with $100 missing from my deceased father's ticket. He told my mother that it was for a processing fee. WHAT??? Also, she requested that she wanted something in writing to say that she had that credit and Afonso NEVER wanted to give her documentation and told her that they do alot of business and that she could TRUST him. HA!! Well my mother walked in there one day only to hear him swearing and cursing to another man in the back and talking vulgarly. My mother was embarrassed and was walking out the door when he finally saw her and started laughing basically in her FACE. Where does this man come from? Who do he think he is to treat someone like that? Oh and it gets better. My mother decides that she is going to do her business with another travel agency. The new travel agency says that she paid too much for her ticket and didn't she have a receipt from Sagres so that she can show that he overcharged her. Well Afonso had it all planned out right from the beginning. He overcharged my mother, brother, and father and yet took $100.00 out of my father's ticket and we had NO DOCUMENTATION because he didn't accept check or credit ONLY CASH!!! BE AWARE!!! This man is stuck in his own little portuguese island. He is a sexist and I will tell everyone who I know about this man.
